MILESTONE MINISTRY BIBLE PRESENTATION
Tracy Posey will be here on Aug. 30th from 9a -10a for families to come personalize their child’s bible. The presentation will be Sept.7th. You are welcome to work on it here or take it home to bring back for Sunday. Tracy will call the families that will be receiving new bibles.

JR & SR HIGH YOUTH HUT WORK DAY
Sat. Aug. 30th from 10a -2p, we will be working to get the Jr. & Sr. high youth huts fixed and ready to go for the new year! Joy will order Pizza for lunch. Come dressed in your painting clothes and prepare to get dirty!

RALLY DAY
Sunday, Sept 7th at 9:15 a.m. We will meet in the sanctuary for a brief Opening, then head outside with our new Sunday School classes and teachers for fun and games!

CANCELED!!! JR HIGH ANNUAL "BUBBA JOY" SHRIMP
SALE
We are canceling the shrimp sale due to a lack of large shrimp coming in. We will wait and have a Jr High fundraiser sometime in Spring.

FALL FAITHQUAKES FOR FINKS!!! (aka: Confirmation!)
Another exciting, thrilling, energizing, rousing, spine-tingling, awesome year of confirmation is just about ready to begin! All Joy youth in 7th and 8th grades are Confirmandos!
A brief meeting for all Confirmands and parents will be held on August 17th at Noon in the parish hall to talk about the year. If, for some reason, you are unable to attend, please contact Pr. Tim.
Our kick-off worship will be held during the late worship on August 31st. Confirmation classes are held on Wednesday evening, generally the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. The evening begins with a delicious meal (provided by parents in a rotation schedule) is served at 6:00 p.m. Our large group learning event begins at 6:30 p.m. with small groups breaking out at 7:30 p.m. Our closing blessing is at 8:30 p.m.
The tentative (subject to adjustment) schedule for our fall confirmation classes is:
September 3, 10 & 17
October 1, 15, 29
November 5, 19
December 3, 10
Write down the dates, mom and dad, check your calendars and we’ll see you at the meeting in August!

LYO MINISTRY TEAM LEADERSHIP RETREAT
All team members are required to attend the Ministry Team Leadership Retreat, August 15-17, 2008 at Lutherhill in LaGrange, Texas
Adult team members (post high school individuals 18 and older) must attend LYO Adult Training. See below for dates

Houston Training ~ Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (Houston area Congregation)
LYO Parent Informational! This time will serve to connect parents with LYO leaders and give insight into the mission, vision and expectations of the organization. The Houston Parent Informational will be on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Both sessions will last from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
